Brad Kaplin
Founder & Director

Brad has been a dedicated educator for ten years, with experience teaching both elementary and high school in Quebec and Ontario. He has a Bachelor of Education degree from Queen’s University, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from McGill University, and a wide range of additional qualifications. He’s certified in Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment, a teaching method that aims to build critical thinking and cognitive functions.

As an English and Math teacher, Brad prided himself on creating engaging, thought-provoking content for his students and delivering it with passion. Over the years, he’s taken on a number of side projects: building STEAM curriculum, enhancing Language Lab practices, and taking a leading role in the development of an Innovation Lab. Brad has also completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree at McGill University, and he’s an aspiring middle-grade author.

Nicola Bromfield
Science Teacher

Nicola has eight years of teaching experience ranging from the elementary to the college level. She holds a Bachelor’s in the Sciences and a Master's of Arts in Education from Bethel University, in the United States. She gained her teaching experience in Arizona, Arkansas, and Vancouver. She believes learning should be fun, exciting, interesting, and practical. Additionally, she is a certified Health Coach and a trained ESL Instructor.

Nicola has taught Chemistry and other science subjects at the secondary level, while also teaching education courses at the college level. Additionally, she has worked in kindergarten, grades 1 and 2 at the elementary level. With such a colourful and varied teaching experience, it’s safe to say that Nicola embraces and welcomes new challenges. She enjoys creating & editing videos, reading, cooking, organizing, caring for her family, and serving others.

Patrick Malka
Science Teacher

Patrick has been teaching sciences across all high school grades for the past nine years. He has a Bachelor of Education degree in Teaching Secondary Science and Technology from McGill University as well as a Master of Science from Concordia, where he studied Behavioural Ecology. The majority of his experience is in the upper grades 9-11.

Patrick enjoys bringing his varied background into the classroom, from working at a bookstore, to animal caretaking at a university, to field research in the tributaries of New Brunswick. Each experience has given him a diverse perspective on how we communicate knowledge to each other. His love for critical thinking and interdisciplinary approaches to teaching science pushes students to not only learn the material, but to understand why it is worth their time and attention.

Robin Kravitz
English & Math Teacher

Robin has been teaching English & Math at the elementary school level for the past nine years. She has a Bachelor of Arts: Specialization in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Concordia University, and she is enrolled in the LCEEQ Summer Math Institute, which focuses on providing educators with practical tools and strategies for math instruction.

Robin has a broad range of experience in her career, having taught grades 3, 4, 5 and 6. She has worked in enrichment coaching her school’s Math Team and in remediation teaching children in a Student Support Program. She is also passionate about performing arts, having studied theatre at John Abbott College. Her performance background has followed her into the classroom when it comes to engaging students with interesting topics and helping them understand or develop their own passions.

Zeel Tanna
English & Math Teacher

Zeel has taught at the elementary school level for the past nine years. Her experiences range from teaching at international schools in the Middle East to teaching at public schools in Ontario, Canada. She has a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University with various additional qualifications, including English as a Second Language and Special Education.

Zeel enjoys sharing her love for reading and likes to delve into all the books that her students are assigned. She has a passion for hiking and just completed the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru. Zeel encourages her students to enjoy the outdoors, and to take on leadership roles that inspire and motivate others to appreciate nature as well.
